CDC's state data brief for 2021 (published December 2023) lists 1 ART clinic in Idaho. Idaho residents had 845 ART procedures that year, leading to 381 live-birth deliveries and 432 live-born infants, and ART babies were 1.7% of Idaho births, against 2.3% nationally. Because CDC counts by the patient's state of residence, the 845 include Idahoans treated in other states.
| Measure, 2021 | Idaho | United States |
|---|---|---|
| ART clinics | 1 | 501 performed ART (453 reported to CDC) |
| ART procedures for residents | 845 | 246,087 |
| Live-birth deliveries | 381 | 91,906 |
| Live-born infants | 432 | 97,128 |
| Procedures per 1 million women aged 15 to 49 | 2,003 | 3,250 |
| ART infants among all births | 1.7% (384 of 22,427) | 2.3% |
Procedures exclude egg or embryo banking cycles. Counted by the patient's state of residence, not clinic location. Source: CDC, State-Specific ART Surveillance, 2021 Data Brief (December 2023).
The brief does not split the 845 procedures between Idaho's single clinic and clinics elsewhere; it only says they were done for people who live in Idaho. The 432 infants follow those 2021 procedures; the 384 are ART babies among the 22,427 infants born in Idaho during 2021.
Idaho residents had 2,003 procedures per 1 million women aged 15 to 49 in 2021, below the national 3,250. With one clinic in the state, the choice of doctor may come down to the in-state clinic or a longer trip, so it helps to know when a relationship with a doctor is not working.
