In CDC's 2021 state data (published December 2023), 4 Oregon clinics reported, and women living in Oregon had 1,917 ART procedures, or 1,992 per million women aged 15 to 49 (U.S.: 3,250). Even so, ART babies made up 2.2% of births to Oregon residents in 2021, close to the U.S. share of 2.3%.

Two numbers stand out. The procedure rate is below the national rate, yet the share of births conceived with ART, 908 of 40,914, sits near the national share. Of the 1,917 procedures, 1,773 were embryo transfers.
CDC counts each procedure by the patient's state of residence, so Oregon women treated in another state are included, and the 4 clinics are those that reported (nationally, 453 of 501 did in 2021).
On coverage, this research found no Oregon law requiring insurers to cover infertility treatment, IVF or fertility preservation, so your own plan's terms decide what you pay. Ask your insurer or HR, and confirm with the state insurance department, because rules change. When you meet a clinic, ask for its results for women your age and with your diagnosis.
Map to the Positive explains IVF as a 4 to 6 week process in five phases. The first three happen before any transfer:
The book notes that most women describe the injections as less painful than they expected.
IVF step by step is Chapter 35 of Map to the Positive, in Station IV, which continues through the transfer and the two-week wait and ends with the questions to ask before you start. Chapter 34 shows where IVF sits on the treatment ladder.
Take 30 days. If it does not give you more clarity than everything you have read for free so far, ask for a refund and you get every cent back. We cannot promise you a pregnancy. We can promise you will not be guessing.
