Take a printed list of questions. The book's script has ten, covering your history, extra tests, coming off birth control, folic acid, follow-up, your partner's tests, habits, vaccines and the doctor's plan if you are not pregnant in a set time. And don't arrive empty-handed: bring your histories and the list of tests too.

Several common medications affect fertility or are incompatible with pregnancy, from some antidepressants to acne medications (especially isotretinoin). Never stop a medication on your own. Bring the complete list to your preconception visit for review.

The preconception visit is Chapter 12 of Map to the Positive, the last chapter of Station I. It closes the station with a one-page checklist: self-assessment done, the 11 tests requested, folic acid started at least 30 days before, birth control, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, vaccines, dental care and your partner involved, so you start Station II ready.
Take 30 days. If it does not give you more clarity than everything you have read for free so far, ask for a refund and you get every cent back. We cannot promise you a pregnancy. We can promise you will not be guessing.
