Saskatchewan does not fund IVF or IUI directly. From the 2025 tax year, its refundable Fertility Treatment Tax Credit returns 50% of up to C$20,000 in eligible treatment and prescription drug costs, a maximum of C$10,000, and each tax filer can claim it once in a lifetime. Services must be received in Saskatchewan, as stated on the provincial page in October 2026.

Because the credit can be claimed only once and counts expenses over a rolling 12-month period ending in the tax year, the timing of your claim matters. Ask a tax professional which year to claim in, given when you expect your largest costs. You pay the clinic first and receive the refund through your return.
Check the current rules with the Government of Saskatchewan, your clinic and your insurer before you plan treatment around this credit.
With a once-in-a-lifetime credit, it helps to be sure of the plan. Map to the Positive says a second opinion is good medical practice, not distrust, especially when:
Ask for copies of all your results and reports, book with another specialist, and present the case neutrally, without leading with the previous diagnosis.
This comes from Chapter 31 of Map to the Positive, How to choose the right doctor, in Station IV. The chapter also gives the questions for a first appointment and the signs of a good professional. The station covers when to see a specialist, the treatment ladder and IVF step by step.
Take 30 days. If it does not give you more clarity than everything you have read for free so far, ask for a refund and you get every cent back. We cannot promise you a pregnancy. We can promise you will not be guessing.
